A public meeting is to be held at the Pinewood Community Hall on Friday 24 January 2014 at 7.30pm. The meeting has been organised by the community action group 'Stop Ipswich Turbines (SIT) and the three most affected parish councils, Belstead, Pinewood and Wherstead as a result of the planning application submitted recently by Partnerships for Renewables for a wind turbine at Pannington Farm, Wherstead.
The turbine will be visable for many miles, overpowering the landscape for everyone who lives in the area and the many who value it for informal recreation. Mr Tim Yeo MP will be speaking in support of local residents and there will be a variety of other speakers, parish council chairmen, a planning consultant, residents who have experience of living close to a turbine and a representative from SIT. The three parish councils involved have already voiced their concerns at the application and will be lodging their objections to Babergh District Council as planning authority in due course.
Do come along to the meeting and hear these concerns for yourself. Reasons for concern are mainly, visual impact, noise and flicker, public footpaths dominated and possible harm to wildlife, The meeting will give information of how residents can object if they wish.
