Pinewood Parish Council is working with Belstead Parish Council with regard to the wind turbine development proposed for Thorington Barn (near to Belstead Village).
Whilst Pinewood Parish Council not object to alternative power or wind turbines, it would object to them being sited in such a way that our parishioners may be adversely affected. The siting of the proposed wind turbines is close to housing and raises a number of issues which give cause for concern i.e. noise and light flicker. These turbines are over 130 metres tall nearly twice the size of the test mast currently located on the site.
We are led to believe that housing wiithin two kilometres of the turbines may be affected by the noise produced by the turbines or light flicker at some point during the day. Just because you may not be able to see the turbines doesnt mean you wont be affected by them.
Note: Two kilometres from the proposed turbines covers the whole of Pinewood with Thorington Park be likely the most affected area. Please read the full leaflet accessed via the link on this page. There is an action group forming against these turbines and if you should require any further information into what they are doing or wish to join the group please contact Jenny Mills on thorington.hall.jm@gmail.com. otherwise visit their web-site at www.stopipswichturbines.com for more information.
