Following requests from local residents the Parish Council organised a litter pick on Saturday morning 21 September 2019. Ten volunteers which included two parish councillors Cllr. Beryl Calver and event organiser Cllr George Dix spent two hours picking twelve bags of rubbish from Cottingham Road, Laburnum Close (including the green area and the shops), Scrivener Drive, Shepherd Drive, Spites Lane and Ward Road.
The parish council wishes to thank all those who took part in this event.
It is hoped that more volunteers will come forward for the next 'pick' and we can then cover a wider area. All volunteers are provided the use of a high-viz vest, a litter picker and bin liners for collecting. Afterwards all are provided with refreshments at the Pinewood Community Hall.
