A public meeting was held last night at the Pinewood Communty Hall organised by Belstead, Pinewood and Wherstead Parish Councils together with local residents action group Stop Ipswich Turbines (SIT) to discuss the planning application recently submitted by Partnerships for Renewables for a 130m turbine at Pannington Farm, Wherstead (near to Jimmy's Farm).
Pinewood Parish Council Chairman, Cllr. Robert Manning chaired the meeting at which over 235 residents packed the community hall to hear a number of speakers talk about their fears and concerns if the planning application is approved by Babergh District Council. Mr Tim Yeo MP also attended and gave his support and said he would write to Babergh District Council and object to the application. All three parish councils who will have residents that may be affected if this turbine is erected are all objecting to the turbine and have until 28 February to formally put their objections in writing to the District Council. If you would like to object to the application then please write to Stuart McAdam, Babergh District Council, Hadleigh, IP7 6JS, or email on planningcontrol@babergh.gov.uk you must include the application number B/13/01476, your name and address, and the words 'I object' for it to count as an objection. Otherwise it is a comment.
For further information then please come along to the next meeting of the parish council on 10 February at the Pinewood Communtiy Hall at 7.30pm when the proposed turbine is to be discussed once again or visit the Stop Ipswich Turbines website at www.stopipswichturbines.com for more information.
