Transparency Code

The Local Government Transparency Code 2015 applies to local authorities, including Parish and Town Councils with annual income or expenditure (whichever is the higher) over £200,000.

Councils with income over £25,000 but under £200,000 are expected (but are not legally required to do so) to follow its recommendations.

To be compliant with the requirements, the following should be published on its website in accordance with the required timescales.

• Publish quarterly:

1. Individual items of expenditure that exceed £500
2. Government Procurement Card transactions
3. Invitations to tender for contracts over £5,000
4. Details of contracts that exceed £5,000

• Publish annually:

1. Details of all land and building assets
2. Grants to Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Organisations
3. Organisational Chart
