The parish council has submitted its objection to the application for a wind turbine to be erected at Pannington Barn, Wherstead this submission emphasises the concerns that are particularly pertinent to the residents of Pinewood inc. Thorington Park.
These comments are in addition to those being submitted on Monday 10 March to Babergh District Council Planning Department from the Joint Liaison Group (JLG) comprising Stop Ipswich Turbines Action Group (SIT), Belstead PC, Pinewood PC and Wherstead PC.
The detail of JLG’s objections, supported by the parishes neighbouring the site, namely Belstead, Wherstead, Pinewood, Stutton, Bentley, Tattingstone, Copdock and Washbrook, Holbrook, Hintlesham & Chattisham, Sproughton and Layham, representing over 12,500 local residents, who oppose this particular industrial wind turbine planning application on this site. The importance of this overwhelming local opposition has been massively reinforced by the publication of new Government planning guidance which significantly changes the planning balance by increasing the weight in any determination that should be given both to local public opinion and also the harm caused by large wind turbines, such as the one proposed here, to the landscape character, heritage assets and local amenity.
Over 700 local residents have also objected as did Ipswich Borough Council as their planning committee meeting held recently. The parish council now awaits the date of the planning meeting at which this application will be formally discussed and decided upon.
